The pitfalls of venting frustration and anger online
May 12th, 2008 | By Richard | Category: Advice, Celebrity, Health, Relationships and SoulVenting frustration online is a great way to clear the air, but it can create more problems that it solves. Remember the internet is public and anything you say can come back to haunt you…
At the end of the article: the Secret to old age: live like a happy old nun! I gave the following advice:
Get that pent-up angst into the open, why not start writing a journal or a blog? When S*$# happens try and see the funny side of it, have a good rant and move on - try not to dwell on it. Reminds me of one of my favourite quotes:
“Life is a comedy to those that think, a tragedy to those that feel” -Horace Walpole
But there is a fine line between comedy and tragedy. In fact the difference can be as simple as ticking the ‘private’ box or not. Also make sure you see who is looking over your shoulder as you tap away furiously on your keyboard. As an example of what can go wrong, last year an Akron man upset with wife’s blogging, stabbed her computer 40 times!

An Akron man who caught his wife blogging with a very handsome man who has very nice hair decided to log her off for good early Wednesday — by stabbing her computer with his switchblade, police said.
The gentleman, 26, of Akron, was arrested on charges of reckless endangerment, simple assault, terroristic threats, disorderly conduct and harassment.
Always a shame to see good hardware go to waste!
If you’d like to have a ’stab’ at blogging yourself (pardon the pun), there are some great articles on setting up a blog: Just search google and you’ll see numerous tutorials such as, How to Set Up a Blog for Beginners:
All you need to start blogging is an email address and something to say.
It really is as easy as it sounds. There are many blogging platforms around but for a simple one just go to blogger.com and follow the easy steps. You can start ranting about whatever you need to vent about in minutes.
If on the other hand, you’re looking for a more lively form of expression, then why not put together a video and whack it up on youtube just like this video of an Angry Wife Getting Revenge Online. It is an entertaining example of the lengths people go to in venting their frustration online;
Divorce battles can be quite ugly, but British actress Tricia Walsh has taken them to a whole new level. Her husband, a wealthy Broadway theater operator, apparently kicked her out of their Manhattan apartment, and to get back at him, she made this YouTube video spilling some really dirty family secrets.
I particularly enjoyed the part where she calls her husbands office to ask where she should send his condoms, porn and viagra!
